Does your cover photo stand out?
Guests decide in a second, scrolling a grid of look-alike photos. Drop your cover photo in with the listings you're up against and see it the way they do: on a phone, on a desktop, and squinting.

Photo check
Checking your photo…
How search crops it
Search results show covers almost square. Everything outside the frame is cut. Make sure what you love about the photo is inside it.
Title check
Type your listing title above to check it against the rules in the book.
Interrupt the pattern. Don't join it.
Pull up any market's search results and you'll see the same photo six times: bright, wide exterior, whole house, blue sky. That's camouflage. The listing that gets the click is the one that breaks the pattern: darker, tighter, a single moment instead of the whole house.
Try it with Squint on. If you can still spot yours in a second, it's working. If you can't, try a different first photo: a detail, an evening shot, a view from inside looking out.
This test comes from Section 10 of The Invisible Host, our guide to running short-term rentals with systems: listing titles, cover photos, pricing rules, the guest messages we send, and the real numbers behind four houses.
